Application

This template handles the circumstance, that the cite-extension is, as of march 2017, not installed, but the installation is agreed on. Before installation it will place references in the running text. After installation the definition will be adapted so it produces a footnote.

Arguments

The template has one obligatory unnamed and one optional named argument

  • Obligatory
    • 1: The content of the reference
  • Optional
    • lang: The language of the notice in the running text. Will become obsolate after switching to the cite extension. deu for German; redundant for English

Example

{{ref|{{external|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/railML}}}}

produces

(comp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/railML (external link))

now and

<ref>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/railML (external link)</ref>

after the switch.

{{ref|{{external|http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/railML}}|lang=deu}}

produces

(vgl. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/railML (external link))

now and

<ref>http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/railML (external link)</ref>

after the switch.
