Semantics / Bedeutung

The Element <textFragment> contains texts used for placeholder replacement of special texts in passenger information systems (Wiki banner.png). Each fragment can specified with meta data regarding its language and verboseness. The specified verboseness allows passenger information systems to select one of the available values that best suits the output technology for the special text. E.g. the string "Berlin Hauptbahnhof (tief)" may be used on displays that are wide enough for doing so or support a resolution high enough to properly display the text. Other displays may use a text with a lower verboseness level, for example "Berlin Haupbhf." or just "Berlin".

B. "Berlin Hbf." oder einfach "Berlin".(introduced with version 2.5)

Attributes of textFragment / Attribute von textFragment

  • xml:lang (introduced with version 2.1): This is a unique identifier of language. It uses basically the language standard IETF BCP 47 (external link) which may be different to ISO 639-1 (external link) or ISO 639-2 (external link). For mapping hints see relation to other standards (external link).
  • xs:anyAttribute: This provides an extension point for non-railML® attributes in a foreign namespace. How to use it?
  • verboseness: Specifies the level of verboseness of the provided fragment. Possible values are:
  • reduced identifies a short version of the text
  • normal identifies the normal length version of the text
  • verbose identifies the extended/long version of the text

Syntactic Constraints / Syntaktische Beschränkungen
