Semantics / Bedeutung

The element <trainClearanceGauge> (introduced with version 2.3) contains all data with regard to the clearance gauge of the vehicle, also called the minimum clearance outline. This rather complex information about minimum distances in terms of height and width from track centre line and top of rail surface is normally coded in related standards and national railway regulations. The information about the clearance gauges the vehicles is compliant to allows decision, whether it is suitable for a particular line.

Das Element <trainClearanceGauge> enthält alle Daten des zu dem Fahrzeug passenden Lichtraumprofil. Diese relativ komplexe Information bzgl. der minimalen Höhen- und Breitenabstände von der Gleisachse bzw. Schienenoberkante ist normalerweise mit einem Code versehen, der in den zugehörigen Standards bzw. Eisenbahnvorschriften definiert ist. In Abhängigkeit davon, welche Lichtraumprofile das Fahrzeug einhält, kann dessen Zugang für eine bestimmte Strecke entschieden werden.

Within the external list 'TrainClearanceGauges.xml' there are additional attributes for each code entry

  • description: This is a verbal description about the clearance gauge.
  • validFor: This is the indication of validity of the clearance gauge.
  • interoperable This means the clearance gauge is defined within the TSI standards for interoperability of common and high-speed railways.
  • multinational This means the clearance gauge is defined within a standard recognised in at least more than one railway network.
  • national This means the clearance gauge is defined only in a national standard or railway regulation.
